Day 01: Ahmedabad
Arrive Ahmedabad by morning flight from Bombay or Delhi. On
arrival assistance and transfer to hotel. Full day city sight-seeing
of Ahmedabad. Visit Jama Masjid - one of the most beautiful
mosques in India, Rani Roopmati Masjid - the Queen's Mosque
in Mirzapur, the Shaking Minarets - when one minaret is shaken,
the other minarets vibrate too, Kankaria Lake - the circular
lake having an island garden in the middle, Hathisingh Jain
Temple & Gandhi Ashram. Back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02:Modhera - Patan (135km/3hrs)
After breakfast start drive for full day excursion to Modhera
& Patan (135km/3hrs). Modhera, is famous for Sun Temple
which was builtv in 1026AD in the reign of the Solanki King
Bhima I. This temple marks the peak of revolution in Indo-Aryan
Hindu Temple from typology. It is positioned in such a manner
that the rising sun's rays illuminate the deity in the inner
most sanctum sanctorum through the main entrance at the time
of equinox only. Later drive to Patan, which is another greatest
reminder of the golden period of Gujarat under Solanki Kingdom.
This ancient fortified town has attractions like Rani Ki Vav
- one of the oldest and grandest stepwells named after Rani
Udaymati, Khan Sarovar and various Jain Temples. Drive back
to Ahmedabad and overnight in hotel.
Day 03: Ahmedabad/Bhavnagar
(By Surface 240 km/5hrs) via Lothal
About 82 kms from Ahmedabad, this ancient city offers an incredible
insight into one of the worlds oldest urban cultures
and the largest civilisation of its time-the Indus valley
civilization or Harappan culture. Overnight in Bhavnagar.
Day 04:Full day excursion to
Palitana (150 km).
Palitana - city of Jain temples, lies at the feet of Shatrunjaya
Hills, in the eastern part of the Saurashtra. From this town
a flight of steps begins and leads to a cluster of 863 hill
top Jain temples built over a period of 900 years. On a moonlit
night these ivory coloured temples conjure up the vision of
a fantasy land. The ornate temples have deities studded with
gems and jewels. Overnight in Bhavnagar.
Day 05: Bhavnagar/Mumbai (By
Air)
Transfer and assistance to Bhavnagar airport for flight to
Bombay.
