Day 01: Arrive Rishikesh
Arrive Rishikesh in the afternoon and transfer
to hotel Great Ganga. Evening one can join the Arti at Parmarth
Niketan dedicated to Mother ganges. Meals and overnight hotel.
Day 01: Rishikesh/Uttarkashi
Morning drive to Uttarkashi. Situated on the bank of roaring
Bhagirathi , this town is famous for its institute of mountaineering.
The drive to Uttarkashi is beautiful and along the Bhagirathi
river. Arrive Uttarkashi and transfer to Hotel for meals and
overnight stay.
Day 02: Uttarkashi/Gangotri/Lodge/Birla Mangal Niketan
Morning after breakfast commence drive till Gangotri
.Enroute visit Natural hot water sulphur springs at Gangnani.
Have a wonderful refreashing bath & proceed up the beautifully
green Bhagirathi valley. The road winds upto sukhi, from where
you get an excellent view of the spectacular Harshil valley.
Wide open & extremely fertile,this valley is full of fruits
, apples ,apricots and walnut being the main produce. From
here you continue through Deodar ( Himalayan Cedar ) forests
to Gangotri . Arrrive and transfer to Manisha Lodge .Afternoon
free to explore the Gangotri valley. You will find the Gaurikund,
The water falls and the marvelous canyon that has been carved
by the river in the rock.The gangotri temple & various
sages who live in the area lend a facinating charm to the
valley. Overnight stay at manisha Lodge.
Day 03: Gangotri/Chirbasa/Bhojbasa
Morning after breakfast start trek to Chirbasa
with an easy climb, the route is filled with enexpected delights
as the gorgeous and magnificent scenery unfold itself with
every step. Five kms from Gangotri, surrounded in the greenery
of the pines and close to the imposing pillers of glacial
clay, is chirbasa.. Have a tea break here and then continue
trek to Bhojbasa starting From here one can encounter the
glimpses of gignatic Gaumukh glacier, along with a other tributary
glistening white glaciers. Just before entering Gaumukh, one
passes through Bhojbasa where there is a forest of Bhoj-Patra
trees. Arrive Bhojbasa and camp. Meals and Overnight camp.
Day 04: Bhojbasa/Gaumukh/Bhojbasa
Earlier there was no fixed path for Gaumukh, people
used to listen to the flow of river and follow it. But now,
there is up a rocky path, marked white on one side and walking
up for an hour or so, the track suddenly goes down. And that
is Gaumukh ( cow's - mouth ), the glacial source of the river
Ganges, set in a spectacular amphitheater of peaks. One can
see Shivling( 6543 mts.) and Bhagirathi peaks very clearly.
A big mass of ice melting down to make up that legend of a
river - the Ganga. Arrive Gaumukh & witness its sheer
captivating beauty with the Gangotri glacier falling thousands
of feet below, melting as Bhagirathi at Gaumukh. Enjoy and
explore the area . Later trace your steps back to Bhojbasa.
Overnight at Camp.
Day 05: Bhojbasa/Gangotri/Lodge/Birla
Mangal Niketan
Morning after breakfast trace your steps back to Gangotri.
Arrive and transfer to Mnaisha Lodge . Later visit Gangotri
Temple to witness the Arti , dedicated to Mother Ganges. Meals
and Overnight
Day 06: Gangotri/Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast retuen drive to Rishikesh. Lunch enroute
at Uttarkashi. Arrive and transfet to hotel for meals and
night stay.
Day 07: Rishkesh-Delhi
Morning after breakfast leave.
